A celebration and critique of technology in an age of chaos. The early 21st Century will be presented as a defining period in human cultural evolution, and the challenges faced unprecedented on a global scale. Climate change, and it’s likely consequences, food and water scarcity, mass migration, and uninhabitable environments, will be conceptualised as an age of chaos, and technology as a counter point and driver for further chaos, or, solutions through innovation. Through a practice-based exploration of emerging technologies, and consideration of disruptive theoretical frameworks and pedagogies, a return to the Avant Garde in arts education will be imagined, and colleagues invited to participate in a workshop exploring chaos, technology, and the practice of educating artists and innovators in the 21st century.
